I love Jennifer McGuire’s blog and videos, she has always great ideas and is a big inspiration for a lot of people. Sometimes she has a guest designer and this time it was Lisa Tilson.
What she did with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers was awesome. She called the technique she used in the video “messy water colouring”.
I have the Zig markers and wasn’t able to use them a lot, I really needed to play with them to know them better.
On the same time an email came from Kathy Racoosing, The Daily Marker, she organized a colouring contest. Well to make a long story short, I promised her to participate.
Kathy encourages us to step out of our comfort zone, so I thought it was an idea to use the “messy water colouring” technique and step out of my comfort zone.
I never used my Zigs like this and I never made splatters on my cards…..!
Not sure if it was a good idea for a contest, I found it not so easy as Lisa showed. Perhaps because I was using Bristol paper from a different brand, the ink didn’t spread so easy, or just because I am a beginner. Although it wasn’t easy, I had a lot of fun and that is what counts.
So here is my first card with my Zigs and this technique, Jennifers blog adress and the use materials are on the end of the page.
