Another Birthday card

I needed a birthday card for a woman who loves France and specially the Provence.
I have a bloc from Studio Light, La Provence,  that contains sheets to make diorama box cards. But knowing I send her such card a few years ago I decided to use one sheet for a normal card.

These sheets work very fast, they are pre-cut so I only have to push the images out and cut away any attachment points.
I die cut the image with the lavender field and a champagne coloured cardstock with a rectangle die with a postage stamp edge for some interest.
On the champagne coloured layer I stamped postmarks from France. I stamped them tone on tone, on the photo it’s hard to see, just to give the layer a little decoration.
I cut some patterned paper slightly smaller than my folded card base and that will be the first layer on the card.

I die cut and dry embossed the flower basket, with the cardstock still in the die I used some ink to colour the raised areas. Because I didn’t like the size of the basket I altered it by cutting off a bottom section and made the handle shorter. Then I traced the die and cut out only the basket slightly smaller than the die and placed it behind the openings of the die cut basket.
Then I shaped my 3D flowers and arranged them with a tiny tag in the basket. I used my 3D glue for the flowers.

All the layers where adhered with foam tape as well as my basket.

In the same La Provence series there are stamps and I used one to decorate my envelope.
I stamped the lavender with different shades of purple by inking the first layer of a light colour that covered the whole flowers ( not the stem) then a second layer with a other colour by inking only a few places on the stamp and that way I also stamped a third colour.
This kind of stamping is the most easy to do with a stamping tool.
When the envelope was dry I put a very thin coat of Distress Glaze with my finger on top of my stamping to prevent smudging on the way.

I love how this card turned out and it was quick to make.
The used materials are under the image and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
